"It is not easy to do good things because, in politics, nobody rewards good things," says Andreas Goerg, an Austrian human rights activist. An organiser of protests against the participation of the late right wing politician, Joerg Haider, in the Austrian government in 2000, he believes the roots of becoming a "political person" are little decisions in one`s personal history. Some of Andreas`s first memories are of his grandfather telling "interesting jokes" of his Nazi youth, when, as a doctor, he was present at executions of political prisoners. One of his grandfather`s favourite stories was about an execution. When he noticed that one of the victims was not dead, he proudly reported this fact to the soldier - who shot the man again.

After the Yugoslavia dissolution, the state film financing has ended and after the Balkan wars and 2000 democratic changes Serbian institutions were not able to significantly finance film. Whenever Serbian cinematography finds itself without a signpost showing it the right way to go, Serbian film workers find the way out. During the recent years, some directors have managed to make films with the financial help of the European film fund, Eurimages, since the domestic public funds cannot manage to efficiently support domestic cinematography.

Ana Marija Vojinovic (28) graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Economics three years ago and decided to move to Ljubljana. The process was awkward and prolonged although all the Slovenian services were willing to make concessions. In spite of perfect knowledge of Slovenian language, she had to go through numerous checks.
