TURKEY: BETWEEN EUROPE AND ASIA 2010-06-21 01:55:41 COLUMN: eu By Nenad Radicevic
Almost unexpectedly, Turkey`s long journey towards the European Union has become a subject of international diplomatic waving. US Defence Secretary Robert Gates expressed concern at Turkey`s damaged relations with Israel and blamed the European Union for pushing Ankara away from the West, by refusing to promptly accept Ankara as a member. Despite the EU rejected a US charge, analysts emphasise that it is a fact that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s government has shifted Turkey`s foreign policy and has sought a stronger Turkish role in the Middle East, improving ties with Muslim countries, notably former foes Syria and Iran.

THE LAST DEFENCE OF EURO 2010-06-21 00:46:31 COLUMN: eu By CEV Magazine team
The loan package of 750 billion euro offered by EU countries and the International Monetary Fund is not a simple life vest meant for economically stumbled Greece, but more likely a rescue measure for the future of the eurozone and the European Union. Unfortunately, a certain critical period is inevitable in order to test an alliance`s stability, and the latest crisis is probably the best temptation.

The annual evaluation of employees is a long-standing practice in developed countries, but in most companies in the Balkans it is just established, where it`s believed that would have positive effect on employee productivity because at the end of the year they will be awarded on the basis of the results of their work. SOLAR PROFESSION OF FUTURE 2010-06-21 00:38:50 COLUMN: energy By Gordana Basovic
Almost all electrical energy consumed by the citizens of Serbia for their own purposes, was obtained from so-called conventional energy sources such as power plants. On the other hand, obtaining electricity from renewable energy sources is considered as a distant future, and further, that is matter of interest only of rare fans of clean energy, from the perspective of the majority. However, the intensive use of renewable sources comes slowly in Serbia, and that time is simple impossible to avoid because energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources are extremely important issues within the European Union.

About 45 percent of EU`s budget is invested in agriculture, and it`s no wonder that the European Union is often considered as an "agrarian community". Closer look to this fact proves that this economy branch is the most important for Serbia as well. Since it is the sector which acquires the budget surplus, for the past few decades it is the only economic branch Serbia could relies on. Serbia has managed to export agricultural products worth two billion dollars, and has spent 1.3 billion dollars for the agricultural imports. Even under the global recession, the 700 million dollars of profit is for 100 million more than a year before.
